We bought a house!

So....we bought a house!  It all started in the spring when the Hubs and I started talking about putting our house on the market.  We thought it was a long shot since we were somewhat upside down on our house.  But, the market made a huge turn for the better in our parts and we thought maybe just maybe we could sell it.  About a month before we were going to put it on the market, we were at church and a friend of mine from our life group said that a couple that used to be in our life group was moving back to our area.  They were specifically looking in our neighborhood, basically on our street.  Our street is in one city and in the school district of another.  We knew that this was probably the one thing that would sell our house since we were in a very desirable school district and you can't buy a house in said school district for the price of our house.  So we had that going for us.  So long story short, I facebooked them, they came and looked at the house and a week later we had a contract.  We basically came out even, almost to the dollar.  We were over the moon to not be out any money.  That being said, we knew we wanted to be in a more established neighborhood so we could have a little bit of built in equity.  Plus we wanted trees and character and neighbors that feel like family and a lifestyle that goes along with that.  So without further a do, here she is....

We have big plans for this house.  It may be 10 years before it's all done but that's ok.  When we first found the house, I fell in love with 2 things.  The space and the neighbohood.  We have three big trees in our front yard, almost 1/2 an acre, almost 2600 sq feet, walking distance to one of the best schools in town and loads of potential!!  We haven't moved in yet but hope to be in a month from now.  We are scraping popcorn, painting and building walls.  Once that is done, we will move in.  Can't wait to share more and chronicle some of the process.  For now, here are some pics of the vision I have for the outside.  I can't wait to paint the outside of this thing!

Maris' Room Reveal!

Long time no see...again!
Here is Maris' room.  Hope ya'll like it!

The room was inspired by a painting by Lulie Wallace.  I just love her work!!  I showed my Dad and he whipped up something similar and it was perfect for the room.  I love having such a talented Dad!  The crib and crib sheet were re-used from Malone's room.  The lovely curtains are this fabric and my very talented mother in law
sewed them for me.  The zebra is from Amazon.

The mirror is from Kirkland's.  I originally wanted to paint it white but my sister and Mom convinced me to leave it gold.  I love the richness it brings to the room.  The lovely antique dresser was a Craiglist find for $125.  My husband painted it with Annie Sloan chalk paint in Greek Blue.  LOVE!!!  The handles were black and we spray painted them an antique bronze to match the mirror.  I wish I had a better pic of the lamp.  It's gorgeous!!!  My mother in law and I were shopping at Home Goods and saw the lamp.  The color scheme wasn't really even decided yet but I knew I had to have it!  My MIL bought it for the room and it turned out perfect!  Thanks Lulu!

The wicker basket was my Grandmother's and it was used in my niece's room as well.  The chair is from my living room and it goes great in here for the time being.  I needed a nursing chair so it will do! My MIL whipped up that lovely throw pillow too.  So glad that I have talented people in my fam!

These ledges were $10 a pop.  So great for her books!

The top left print is from Little Cozy House on Etsy.  It's the bible verse, Provebs 31.  I love it!  The top middle pic is a dish towel from Lisa Rupp Designs on Etsy that I framed.  The Bon Jour sign is from a sweet friend who also has her own Etsy shop called Bleu Print Shoppe.  She also did our Christmas Cards/Announcements.  They were awesome!  The bottom left pic is a picture that my Grandmother painted that fits perfectly into the room.  The bottom middle painting is from my talented Daddy.  Maris' announcement is also included on this wall.  Sister pics are planned for the other two frames.

The light fixture is from Ikea.  I love it and it casts this super cool shadow onto the wall that my girls love to look at.  The wall colors are Love and Happiness by Benjamin Moore and Cool Lava by Benjamin Moore.

So that is the room!  It came together just the way that I wanted and I plan on moving both girls into this room and making Malone's room the playroom.  IF we stay here that long.  Hope you all like it!

So...a lot has happened in a year!

We planted a garden and by "we" I mean Calley.

We got prego with #2

3 of us got prego at work.  Well, not actually at work but you know what I mean.

We took Malone to her first Ranger game.  She loved it!  Gentry is her favorite player.  Why you ask?  Because she wants to hug him.  Me too sister, me too.

We took our first ever family vacation.  It was great!  Malone loved the beach.
Can't wait to do that as a family of 4!

Poor Calley hurt his foot.  32 stiches...ouch!

My belly got HUGE!

Then this beauty was born.  Can't wait to blog her birth story.
Much easier than last time.
