To Party or Not To Party?

That is the question.
Malone is turning the big O-N-E in March and I am having an inner battle (dramatic much?) about whether or not to throw a big bash or just something small.
It's hard because if you are a blog reader like me,
than you all know that there are some lovely ladies that throw some kick bootie parties
for their little ones. I want to be one of those lovely ladies
but I also what to stick to one of the 3 F's.
Whatever I decide, I better figure it out soon because I need to let the ordering begin!
The Hubs says I am crazy and she won't even remember this. Good point Hubs.
But, I will remember it and this day will forever go down in picture history.
Guess we will just have to wait and see!
In the meantime here is a little sneak peak at some of my ideas for the BIG day!

What I Wore Wednesday #9

Sorry I missed last week but in case you hadn't heard I was in VEGAS!!! But, I did post lots of pics of my outfits and you can check those out here. Hope everyone has a fabulous day! I am linking up with The Pleated Poppy, Jewelscapes and No Model Lady.

Yes, I had wet hair. I was trying real hard to fake it! Oh and I obviously think contorting my feet like that makes me look skinny. I have been reading way too much of this girl!

Dress: Forever21, Tights: Target, Boots: Dillards

Scarf: Not sure, Pin: Loft, Shirt: Forever21,
Jeans: OldNavy, Boots: Dillards

You know how I have been trying to pull off the whole split down the middle bang thing? Well....I didn't pull it off. I wore it for a couple of weeks and I just couldn't do it anymore. There were days when I felt like if I showed any more of my forehead I was going to start blinding people! So, here is my new look. I love it! I feel like myself again. Sorry to all those people that may or may not have been blinded by the 5head! Haha!

Have a great day!!!

Malone is 10 months!

Our sweet girl is 10 months old. Before we know it she will be the big ONE! She is saying Mama, Dada, Hi, Bye and Nannie Mama swears she is saying Nannie. She has 6 pearly whites and is laughing and cheesing more and more these days. She has just started to let go and stand for just a few seconds then she realizes what she is doing and lands smack dab on her rear. She went through a super clingy phase a couple of weeks ago but I think we are past that...for now. Her hair is starting to thicken up and she has the cutest little curls in the back. I am just going to die with excitement if she has curly hair. Dimples and curly hair? How will we ever say no to her??? She is waving, clapping and making the kissing noise all the time. Daddy also taught her how to make a blubber noise when putting your index finger over your mouth. She seems to think this is super funny. She is a great eater. She will pretty much eat anything you put in front of her. She loves chicken, sweet potatoes, green beans, cottage cheese and Daddy's homemade cinnamon apples. She can hold a cracker and take little bites off of it. This is a life saver, even though it makes Nannie Mama a nervous wreck. At her 9 month appointment she weighted 21.5 pounds and was 29 1/2 inches long. She is such a big girl! Way to big for her britches! We are starting to wean her from the bottle next week and start to give her milk. Any suggestions or tips? Here is our baby girl in the last month!

Eating cottage cheese. She LOVES it!

Catching some zzz's in the car.

This is how she rolls, in her hot pink jumpsuit

Viva Las Vegas!!!

We had an amazing time in Las Vegas. Myself and 7 other girls went to Vegas this year for the annual Redken Hair Show. Not only was Vegas a blast but the hair show was off the hook! (that's right I just said that) I learned a lot of things and saw some great new products. Hello, texture iron anyone? We ate amazing food, gambled a little, and danced a lot. But, I can't reveal too much because as they say, "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." Although, I will tell you that I learned I am not as young as I thought. One night of dancing and staying up late was about all this girl could handle. Hope you enjoy the pics!

On the plane. Thank goodness for a Dr. that will prescribe
you some feel good drugs. I was terrified!

Headed out on the first night with all the girls!

Holly and I at Olive's

I have to do this. This salmon was like butter in your mouth.
Probably the best thing I have ever tasted.

Me, Holly and Mindy in front of the fountains at the Bellagio.

Impromptu bang trim in the bathroom at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Thank goodness we are professionals. Yes, those are kitchen scissors.

At Jet Nightclub in the Mirage.

Party animals!

Our last night. On the way to Emeril's Fish House.

See you next time Vegas!!!

Malone's Quirky Nursery

Finally! I am ready to give everyone a tour of Malone's nursery. It came out just the way I wanted it too. I wanted something for her to grow into and this color scheme seemed perfect. Still girly but not too much. I love the quirkiness of it and Malone seems to love it too! Hope you like it!

View of room when you enter. Paint color is
Silver Sage by Restoration Hardware.
Curtains are from the same collection as the bedding. As is the diaper hanger.

Tree Decal from Art Wall Project on Etsy.

Closer view of bedding called Delilah by Cocalo Couture.
Sheet from Pottery Barn.

My sister picked up these plates at Weir's furniture
store and they looked perfect above her window!

Love the wall art from a local flee market. Lamp is part of bedding
collection. Malone's birth announcement is clipped to birdie
photo holders from Hobby Lobby that my sis found
for my Anthropologie inspired baby shower.

The Hubs made this bookcase from scratch. He is amazing,
can't wait to get him started on some other projects!
Red/white polka dot straw bins come from Pier 1.
Wall decal is from Wall Spoken on Etsy.

Bird box is Malone's baby book. Isn't it a beauty. The book comes inside this gorgeous box. You can see more of this beautiful baby memory book here.

Books, old and new. I love the alphabet/number nesting blocks from a sweet friend. My sis got the adorable Blah Blah doll for Malone, we call her La La.

Absolutely Fabulous sign from Hobby Lobby. Picture frames from Target. Cherry outlet cover from JC Blooming Boutique on Etsy.

View of Malone's changing table that I got at Canton Trade Days.
Hamper from Pottery Barn Kids. My Dad created the painting for me.
I love it but I think this wall is too bare. Need to add something just not sure what.

I love this mobile. It comes in the same collection as the bedding.
It is one of the reasons I fell in love with the bedding!

Closer view of the painting my Dad did for me. Love it!

If you like my little girl's room, go VOTE for her.
You can vote more than once so vote, vote, vote!

Big Girl!

I want Malone's big girl room to look exactly like this!

It is absolutely perfect. Thanks Whatever for the great inspiration.
I will be copying you in the future!

Or....
Maybe just like this:

Thanks to Ashley Ann

P.S. Hopefully I will be able to post pics from Malone's nursery. Here we are 9 1/2 months later and I am still saying I have some finishing touches to do. Can't wait to share!

The 3 F's

So, I have been thinking a lot about resolutions. Like a lot of people, I don't really like to make New Year's resolutions. 1. because I have too many of them and 2. because I never stick to them. But, this year after the birth of our baby I feel like because of all the craziness I have let a lot of things fall by the wayside. It took me a long time after Malone's birth to start feeling like myself again but that is a whole other post. So, instead of making a "resolution" I am just going to promise myself to be more intentional about the three F's. What are the three F's you ask? FAITH, FINANCE, and FITNESS! Well, they are my 3 F's. I guess it could stand for Fudge, Fudge and more Fudge. But, then I would really get nothing done. So here it goes:

FAITH
I want to concentrate more on my faith. I love God and want to draw nearer to him. I need it and so does my family. I want to get back to my morning devotionals and writing in a prayer journal. When I was pregnant, I wrote in it constantly and felt the closest to God I have ever felt. My husband read his bible and wrote in a prayer journal as well. And both of us have gotten out of the habit. We also haven't attended church regularly like we used to. It is so important to have a community of believers around you that you can "do life with" and we have been feeling so disconnected. A lot of that came from busy life and a lot of it came with my need for inclusion whenever life stresses me out. So, in 2011, I want to be more intentional with my FAITH.

FINANCE
Whew, this is a big one. Ever since I returned back to work from maternity leave, work has been a little slow. But, I didn't act like it, at least not with my finances. I also didn't act like I just had a daughter that caused us to spend an additional $500 a month or so. I just spent like usual. So that has to change. We have some goals regarding finance:
1. Create more retirement
2. Set up college fund for Malone and pay into it
3. Buy the Hubs a boat
4. Go to Mexico this summer
5. Make grocery bill smaller
Sounds like a lot right? I know, I am getting sweaty just thinking about it. I LOVE to shop. It is like therapy for me and I am scared to let it go. Well, let's be honest I can't just let it go. But, I can reign it in some more. So in 2011, I want to be more intentional about FINANCE.

FITNESS
I hate this one. Really, really hate it. I haven't worked out on a regular basis in 11 years, when I was a high school cheerleader. Even then I didn't work out because I wanted to, I worked out because I had to. I hate it. Did I mention that? Everyone says, if you just do it for 30 days it will become a habit and you will love it. No I won't. Last year I worked out 3 days a week for 15 minutes lost a few pounds and said, "heh that's good enough for now." I always have good intentions but I never seem to follow through with it. I still have a good 12-15 pounds of baby weight to lose and I must lose it to feel "normal" again. At work we are doing the biggest loser and have 90 days to get the weight off. Hopefully this will be a swift kick in the pants to lose the weight and it won't hurt that there will be some money involved to sweeten the deal. So in 2011, I want to be more intentional about FITNESS!

I am hoping by sharing this post with everyone I will see it in print and know that someone out there may be watching me and holding me accountable. When I go through my posts and see this one I will be reminded that I had some things I needed to be working on!

Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.

Etsy Lovin' (sort of)

I had originally found this shop on Etsy but when I went to write this post, I discovered they had moved. Why anyone would want to leave Etsy is beyond me (greatest website in the world)!! Oh, well still love their shop so I HAD to feature them anyway! Since I purchased my camera, I have been dying to buy a camera strap cover. Etsy has several shops that make them but I really wanted one with some extra pizzaz. That is when I came across Eclectic Whatnot. Here are just a few of my favorites:

Mine is no longer on the new website. It is green, chocoate brown
and white toile fabric, with a chocolate brown ruffle running
through the middle. The reverse side is chocolate brown
and white zebra print, so cute!

Another company that has some great camera strap covers is Shey B. Such great fabric combos. They are so unique. I love it!

I bought my sister this one, loves it!
